Keep Your Mittens Handy

Given the cold, cold weather outside, I thought I would post a photo showing my favorite way to store mittens, gloves, hats, and scarves. In our house, we use a plastic sorter that hangs inside a closet door, as shown:

I think this was meant to be a shoe holder, but the pockets are just perfect for our winter gear instead.

  1. A friend led me to your blog and I just saw the first posted picture. I do the same thing! My shoe holder isn't clear however, so yours is ideal. I'll be looking forward to reading more.

  2. I wish I could remember where I first heard the idea. I'm glad to know that it works for others as well. I meant to add that when the gloves and things are wet, you can clip them to the outside of the pockets with clothespins, allowing them to dry.

  4. I do the same thing with my daughter's ribbons and barrettes. Each row is a color, and each column is barrettes, pony tail holders, ribbons, and headbands. No more messy dresser tops!
